TCL Packaging flexographic learn shop gets great reviews

TCL Packaging hosted its first technical learn shop on 14th May and received positive reviews from attendees. ‘Understanding the print and production process for flexible packaging’ took place at the company’s production unit in Stafford Park, Telford.

Alan Coker from Creation Reprographics covered the process of platemaking and reprographics for flexographic print. Ian Lowe from Sun Chemicals presented on developments in ink technology. Simon Smith and Markus Javstrom from TCL Packaging delivered talks on introduction to print and how to choose the correct substrate for each product application.

The event attracted a variety of attendees including food and non-food manufacturers, brand owners and retailers who came together to develop their learning and network with others.  A tour of the TCL factory enabled delegates to see the flexographic process in action including plate preparation, working printing presses, slitting and lamination.

Research feedback from the delegates showed very high ratings for the event, tour and presentations.  A second event in June is now fully booked but the company has plans for further dates in Autumn 2015.
