TCL has recently installed a brand new air compressor into its Telford site. The compressor it replaces is over 10 years old and, although still operational, is getting towards the end of its life (although it will remain an emergency backup). We have taken the opportunity to purchase a top-of-the-range HPC Kaeser compressor that is far more energy efficient than the old one, so it helps save the planet as well as reducing our electricity bill. The purchase of the compressor was part-funded by a Marches Energy Grant.
Compressing air creates a lot of heat, and so, as an added environmental and energy bonus, we divert this hot air into our lamination curing room, negating any additional power requirement.
